Many surgeons require that your child have a preoperative examination at our office within a week prior to a planned operation.  Every attempt should be made to schedule these appointments with the physician that is most familiar with your child’s condition.  There is generally a form for you to provide from the surgeon’s office for our completion.  Please note that the history taken and examination performed for preoperative clearance are often focused on a particular issue and do not count as your child’s annual physical exam.
